From an Unused Campaign Memo dated November 15th submitted by Phil Krone Good morning, I am Arthur Turner and I am running for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois. I’ve served in the House of Representatives of the Illinois General Assembly since 1981 rising to the position of Deputy Majority leader but I am sure that not even 5% of the citizens of our great state outside of my district and larger west side community would recognize my name at this time. Hopefully, that will change. I was fortunate...

The election of Scott Lee Cohen has shown us many things and confirmed other things we thought to be fact. Among these: 1. Party organization and responsibility is near dead. Both candidates for Lt. Cohen also declined to comment through his spokeswoman about Democratic calls for him to step down. Baratta said Cohen is taking the weekend off, won’t be doing interviews and is unavailable for comment. A spokeswoman for media relations firm Grainger Terry Inc. confirmed today that the company and Cohen have severed ties....

[ Illinois Review • 5 Feb 2010 • 3 Comments ]

I have just returned from an outstanding GOP unity event led by Pat Brady. My enthusiasm for this year and its opportunity to serve the people of Illinois is growing in light of the extraordinary ticket we nominated and situation we face. The GOP gubernatorial race appears to be on its way to amicable resolution.  Why?  Because Kirk Dillard, Bill Brady and (no relation) Pat Brady are class acts who know that first, Illinois’ election administrators owe GOP primary voters and the people...

Grainger Terry, the political consulting firm is feeling some heat this week. After running a few campaigns this season, including the Scott Lee Cohen campaign for Lt. Governor, Grainger has emerged as a villain of convenience for the self-disgusted electorate. A few posts: “The people at Grainger Terry better enjoy their million because their reputation is ruined. It makes me sick to think that other Democrats worked for/endorsed this freak. Especially one year after Rod. Amazing.” ...
