GOP Kaleidoscope.

The other day I started inventing what I thought would be a winning state ticket for the Republicans. It somehow caught on. Mail came in with other suggestions and hence I give you another shake of the kaleidoscope to show other 2010 ticket possibilities…these suggestions coming from both professional pols and movement people who want to the see Grand Old Party progress. Paul Vallas should avoid the Cook County President Race like a drunken blind date with a festering cold sore. The Cook County mess needs to be cleaned up by the boys and girls who created the mess – if that means the power suits who foisted Todd Stroger upon us, then so be it Dudes – back Todd again! Let Buzz Saw Tony Peraica gut whomever he needs to win the big chair that Todd Stroger dangles his feet high over the carpet in the County Board Hearing Room.

Jack Frank’s a nice guy and a friend but he can’t convince me that Mike Madigan screwed up Pat Quinn’s session by not raising taxes because he lost the power to convince his troops. Not anyone of Madigan’s leadership stripe. Tax hikes are not anathema to Dems as they are to Republicans or the general public. Madigan gave his step-daughter a golden opportunity for the nomination in 2010 and the general in November. There’s a thought that if Madigan wanted to harm Quinn he’d pass the tax hike-but in the …

Small wonder the “Tribune” is monetarily bankrupt given its proclivity to sell liberalism, backpedaling from its tradition…which makes it intellectually out of pocket as well. With the currently bankrupt “Sun-Times,” the general trend of big metropolitan dailies, the major newsmagazines, the broadcast networks: who needs yet another liberal house organ?
