The U. S. government urged Scottish ministers that it would be “far preferable” to free the Lockerbie bomber and allow him to live in Scotland rather than in Libya reported The Daily Australian quoting the London newspaper (firewalled!) The Sunday Times—contradicting a statement by President Obama that “all Americans were surprised and angry” when the bomber, Abdel Baset al-Megrahi was released to Libya because he was at death’s door with advanced prostate cancer and had only three months to live. After he was released, a doctor in Libya said …

Along with almost every other “mainstream media” outlet, the Chicago Sun-Times wreaks with attacks on Mel Gibson…and has printed the diatribe of the proud atheist Christopher Hitchens (who on television assailed Mother Teresa during broadcast of her funeral). Hitchens has his own psychological problems but what about Gibson who went on a mad tear, picked up a girlfriend although he was married and the father of seven children, got his concubine pregnant, then split with her and exploded into a series of disgusting taped rages that slurred Jews and …

Brady’s Too Smart (I Hope).
The Capitol Fax blog is many good things…thorough…complete…covers Illinois politics like a blanket…but it is also well to remember that it is largely a Democratic house-organ and megaphone for the Madigans, especially Speaker Pop. Yesterday it gave expansive coverage to an NBC-TV blogger who laments that Bill Brady is unknown in Cook and that he hangs around too much with Tea Party people. To which liberal lip-synch Capitol Fax blog adds a hearty amen. Both Capitol Fax and the blogger are well-known for labeling …

The Dumbest Billionaire.
I suppose if you’re Jewish yet dumb enough to be taken for millions by slicker lefty ideologue Bernie Madoff you’re dumb enough…even though you’re a Wharton MBA and Harvard lawyer…to be taken for a ride by Obama even if you’re the president of pro-Israel organizations notwithstanding that it was clear during the campaign that The One was, if not by heritage, at least by passion a supporter of Palestinian militancy. But all the same it’s humiliating for a supposed business sharpie like Mort Zuckerman to have to …

From Gateway Pundit
“I’m not going to rest or be satisfied until the leak is stopped at the source, the oil in the Gulf is contained and cleaned up, and the people in the Gulf are able to go back to their lives and their livelihoods.”

The Pro-Squid Chicago Media.
Say, whatever happened to that story that seemed to pass by in a twinkling of an eye about Gov. Quinn’s early parolees including one locked up for a 2008 murder disappearing after they were set free as part of Quinn’s infamous early release program? If anything should underscore the incompetence of the Quinn administration, this is it: yet after the first glimmer of the story…zip…nothing has been heard of it since.

This is only the most glaring case of the Chicago media tipping the scales to …

Once upon a time politicians felt it was important to have on their side in order to govern “the liberal media” …by which they meant the 3 big networks, the big urban papers and the national newsmagazines…known as The Big 3 Plus. That array has been systemically weakened since the `90s. Nowtalk radio, the Internet and the changeover in at least two major papers: The Wall Street Journal and The New York Daily Post has made the old liberal formula redundant. But come with me to yesteryear when …

Alan Dershowitz has endorsed Republican Joel Pollack for US Representative in the Illinois 9th over incumbent Democrat Jan Schakowsky.

It’s in Politico, a Washington Post Blog, while Chicago Now posts a press release from the Pollak campaign in one of our favorite blogs. TPM and Salon ridicule Dershowitz for straying from the apparatchik’s devotion to Pollak’s opponent Jan Schakowsky.
The Tribune and Sun-Time’s missed it, they must have been otherwise engaged with nitpicking Mark Kirk’s teaching record (Sun-Times)  or nitpicking Mark Kirk’s military record (Tribune).
Carol Felsenthal does the full job on …

As first reported by Politico, Mr. Brady goes and says during a trip to Washington that he thinks he could beat Barack Obama if the president came home to run for governor.

Mr. Brady is right that 2010 augurs to be a strong Republican year in Illinois. But not if he keeps shooting off his mouth and dissing the president of the United States.
At least Mr. Brady has former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush coming to town Thursday morning for a fundraiser. Can you give him a few election tips, Jeb?
