Alan Dershowitz has endorsed Republican Joel Pollack for US Representative in the Illinois 9th over incumbent Democrat Jan Schakowsky.
It’s in Politico, a Washington Post Blog, while Chicago Now posts a press release from the Pollak campaign in one of our favorite blogs. TPM and Salon ridicule Dershowitz for straying from the apparatchik’s devotion to Pollak’s opponent Jan Schakowsky.
The Tribune and Sun-Time’s missed it, they must have been otherwise engaged with nitpicking Mark Kirk’s teaching record (Sun-Times) or nitpicking Mark Kirk’s military record (Tribune).

From Joel Pollak at Big Governmet
I have found evidence that may explain the intense interest of Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) in bailing out ShoreBank, the “community development” bank that has received extraordinary assistance from her and several other “friends in high places.”
The New York Times confirms that Rep. Schakowsky played a leading role in the ShoreBank bailout. Yet ShoreBank is not based in Rep. Schakowsky’s congressional district, and she did not help the Bank of Lincolnwood–which is in her district, and failed in 2009–or Park National Bank, which was also active in community development …

ShoreBank hauls in another familiar name from the Financial Times
According to a person familiar with the deal, Goldman Sachs agreed to invest about $25m, and Citigroup and GE Capital were each committed to invest $20m. Other investors included Bank of America, which will invest $15m and Morgan Stanley, which committed $10m. JPMorgan is also included in the consortium. People familar with the deal said George Soros, the financier, tentatively agreed to contribute $5m. A spokesman for Mr Soros declined to comment.

Joel Pollak, 32, (graduate of Niles North, Harvard College, Harvard Law School), wants Jan Schakowsky’s seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Having secured the GOP nomination after running unopposed in the February primary, Pollak now boasts that an endorsement from Alan Dershowitz, the Harvard professor and Obama supporter, is in the bag. A formal nod will come later this spring, he promises, when Dershowitz, for whom Pollak worked as a research assistant, travels to Chicago for a press conference. (Dershowitz had not responded by post time to attempts to …

From Robert Creamer, husband of US Rep. Jan Schakowsky and inmate number 16923-424 at Terra Haute Federal Correctional Facility
What’s worse, these insurance executives don’t get a first-hand look at the suffering and death that results from their policies, or their attempts to block reform. They manage their war from pristine office towers. They don’t have to look into the eyes of a husband whose wife has just died of cancer that could have been cured if it were caught early – but went undetected because for financial reasons she had …

Rep Jan Schakowsky advising Scott Lee Cohen on the mud slung in politics?
Geez, of all people to advise Cohen to step aside because of the mud slung in politics. Schakowsky’s husband Bob Creamer did some hard-time down at Terre Haute for a check kiting scheme and the two of them still walk tall. If Schakowsky’s calling shots here, Cohen oughtta stay. Who’s Schakosky and Creamer to talk.

Jan Schakowsky changes banks. After she voted to send TARP money to the same bank.
Bob Creamer wants to blame bankers for the Democrat’s mismanagement.
Didn’t Bob have a few issues with banks in the past?

(Vote Yes to Suspend Funding, Vote No to Continue Funding ACORN)
75 Dem no votes. More split in the House than the Senate, though some of the Dem Illinois delegation disgraces itself again. Danny Davis, Jesse Jackson Jr. (who is under an ethics and criminal investigation), Jan Schakowsky, following the lead of our child sex-slaver Senators.
Foster, Lipinski, Quigley, Bean, Halvorson see the writing on the wall–you’re still endangered in 2010–where were you on ACORN before?
P.S. Oh, and the Tribune finally editorializes on ACORN. Quite the light touch. This is all so …

The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs. It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt. Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama …
