At least 15 people were wounded in shootings on the South and West Sides Tuesday night and early this morning, according to police.
The attacks included the shooting of seven people in the East Garfield Park neighborhood, the shooting of two people in the Little Village neighborhood and the shooting of a carjacking victim on the South Side.

A single black mother renting in Mount Greenwood had her garage victimized by Hate Criminals. Some person or persons painted the garage on the property she rents with hate words. Kids most likely. Kids.
Kennedy Park, in my Morgan Park neighborhood, had its property victimized by Hate Criminals. Some person or persons painted Swastikas on the Chicago Park District Property. Kids most likely. Kids.

The whole world was watching last November 4 as a guy from the South Side of Chicago declared victory in the presidential race on the same site where 40 years earlier the whole world was watching Chicago’s finest beat hell out of thousands of anti-war demonstrators.
America was now united against an equally unpopular war and the country’s racial divide was narrowing. A lot of us sort of thought that sort of closed the book on 1968.

Are pro-lifers any more responsible for the death of late-term abortionist George Tiller than anti-war activists are responsible for the murder of a young soldier outside of a Little Rock army recruiting station?

Police in west suburban Riverside said whoever pumped seven shots into a home Wednesday morning was likely targeting controversial Cook County Commissioner Tony Peraica, who lives next door.
“We believe right now Mr. Peraica was the target,” Riverside Police Chief Tom Weitzel told the Sun-Times. “And that it was meant as some type of intimidation or message.”

The New York Times has been furiously penning policy briefs to the Obama administration. A recent editorial on black crime compresses within a few hundred words decades of failed thinking on public safety. If the president-elect follows its hoary prescriptions, he will be guaranteed to waste taxpayer money without having the slightest effect on crime.
