Just days after being endorsed by the state’s largest employee union, the Quinn administration has reached a deal not to lay off any of the union’s members or close any facilities in which they work until at least mid-2012.

Under a tentative pact that the state says it expects to sign later this week, some 50,000 state workers who are members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees would have their jobs protected until June 30, 2012 — a third of the way into the term of the next …

In a series of events that has escaped the incumbent media, the Left Wing of the Democratic Part has been out in force exhibiting the liberalism they are famous for.
Here’s a crew (in what looks like Joliet) at an Adam Kinzinger apperance on Sept. 15th sporting signs calling the Republican military vet a Nazi

And the ever tolerant Organizing for America made an appearance in Hoffman Estates to spit on Andrew Breitbart and yell obscenities at him

Sheila Simon was totally Pat Quinn’s “downstate strategy,” which is almost as insane as Sheila Simon’s take on her campaign’s shortcomings. Pat Quinn’s opposite-world strategy was, of course, to send someone who just looks liberal into farm towns with a banjo.

But hey according to Pat Quinn, Bill Brady has a super-seekert plan to RAISE TAXES on you because THAT’S WHAT HE DOES or something when he’s not killing puppies and oppressing women and refusing food to poor people and making Bob Cratchit work on Christmas. Never mind that Pat Quinn …

A friend called to tell me that Democrats are secretly supporting conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady because they predict he’ll be a one-termer. So they’ll grit their teeth for four years and then run a Democrat (who is not Pat Quinn) who can keep the office for multiple terms.
Turns out my friend was half right. There are Democrats working for Brady; but they are working for Brady because, they say, he’s just what’s needed by the state of Illinois, which is teetering on fiscal insolvency. He’s a proven businessman, …

You remember credit default swaps, right, the financial “instrument” that pricked the housing and economic bubble?
Illinois is “enjoying” the same kind of debt bubble that led the nation into its current financial mess. I call it a debt bubble because if all the borrowing that the state does to keep it afloat ever becomes no longer possible, if Illinois defaults on the bonds it has sold to millions of investors, Illinois is finished. Kaput.

It might surprise you that under girding Illinois’ massive debt are credit default swaps (CDS), the same …

What keeps our politicians busy these days?  Pensions..Who needs one? Deficits: Gotta buy those votes..don’t we? Two wars in West Asia and a lot of shooting on the West Side that can wait.  There is no issue is more critical to the fate of the Republic and the State of Illinois than Pet Registries.

Our august and serene State Legilature has put the pressing problems of the State to sleep, and taken a shot at regulating pet purchasing by passing the landmark House Bill 5772 amending The Animal Welfare Act to …

From Organizing for America
Since becoming Governor following the worst financial collapse since The Great Depression, Governor Quinn has implemented a plan that has put Illinois back on the road to recovery. By incentivizing private-sector investment in Illinois, and signing into law the first comprehensive infrastructure plan in Illinois in 10 years, Governor Quinn has made jobs the focus of his administration.

He signed Illinois first jobs bill in a decade. The Illinois Jobs Now! capital plan will create 439,000 jobs, while improving our state’s aging infrastructure, making it safer for everyone on …

Gov. Pat Quinn’s chief of staff resigned Sunday after the Chicago Sun-Times posed questions about a probe of three politically oriented correspondences sent from his government e-mail account in possible violation of a state ethics law.

In tendering his resignation, Jerry Stermer, 67, said he did not want to have findings against him by former Executive Inspector General James A. Wright overshadow the work of the governor, who is in a difficult election battle against Republican Bill Brady.

“I’m incompetent, indecisive, ineffectual, and I’m going to raise state taxes rather than cut state spending, but vote for me because my opponent’s crazy.” That, in a nutshell, is Governor Pat Quinn’s pitch to voters and rationale for election.

And, to some extent, it’s working.. A Rasmussen Reports’ poll in March had Republican Bill Brady ahead of Quinn by 47-37 percent; in June, Rasmussen had Brady ahead by 43-40; in July, it was back to 47-37.
For an incumbent, Quinn’s numbers are abysmal. Three-fifths of the voters consistently reject him. But Brady, …
