IL Congressman Joe Walsh told the Chicago Tea Party at Chicago's Cubby Bear Thursday night instead of challenging fellow Republican freshman Randy Hultgren in the newly-drawn 14th CD, Walsh said he'll focus on winning the 8th in 2012. The Daily Herald writes this little tidbit:

Walsh — lured by the thought of an easier primary and the promise, according to top Illinois GOP officials who requested anonymity and influential Barrington Republican Jack Roeser, of $3.5 million in general election fundraising help from House Speaker John Boehner — will now make a bid in the recently drawn 8th District, roughly centered in Schaumburg and including Addison, Elk Grove, Hanover and Wheeling townships.

Sounds vaguely like what was written on Illinois Review several weeks ago, and which stirred an angry reaction from the Congressman. Maybe now things will settle down as the Democrats become the enemy once again.

Chicago Now blogger Warner Todd Huston gives his first person perspectives on the evening's events here.
