City sees $635-million budget hole in 2012

Chicago's 2012 budget now faces a $635-million hole — about what was expected, but bound to cause lots of pain, Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced Friday.

The hole guarantees the city a deep, continuing conflict with worker unions.
