Biden; he of the plagiarized speech; he of the bad hair weave; he of the long-winded speech and random aside. It is interesting that much press claimed him to be expert of foreign policy - but it is pedantic "conspicuous learnedness" he has which does not lucidly inform his opinion but instead clogs his judegment; he was dead wrong on Iraq and his aleged expertise moreover misled the Congress of Peeps to support Bush when it should have done otherwise. And his perspective on Georgia is right out of the Kagan/Kristol playbook and Gingrich's "Contract for America." But he is a great choice for Bambi's VP; he will not hog the limelight - will be a funeral-goer like Bush one. Obama said just two days before in Virginia he would not be guided in foreign policy by his VP. In bringing in an old line mainstream Dem, Barack includes the tradition and the generation and does not alienate them. But another Democrat with hair issues . . . jut alors; the one really good thing about Biden is that he is not Hillary and it is driving the Republicans crazy - their whole gamebook is based on one Clinton or another poisoning the political water. (Sort of how Bush & Co. thrill in invading little, tribal countries and then . . . uh-oh . . . suddenly finding themselves facing Russia). Now Bush/Clinton are like Holmes and Moriarty going over the waterfall together. Good for America. Good for Bambi. Good for Chicago.

The dilemma with Biden is that he was advocating regime change in Iraq long before Bush. (He convinced me!)

If Obama's case against Bush rests on judgement, what are we to make of Biden who was more gung ho for war than Bush.

I have a vivid memory of Biden gravely saying Bush needed to have the will to see this war through... that the post war period would be tough.

Biden was right. But Bush stuck it out and Biden caved advocating partition.

The far left correctly gets this about biden too... check "Biden, Iraq, and Obama's Betrayal" at http://www.fpif.org/fpiftxt/5492

To have beat the war drum and then change ones mind once it got bloody then advocate retreat is not a great case for potential C of C.

Joe is a pleasant fellow who has helped us preserve historic areas of Delaware. I cannot explain his sudden outburts of pure fiction. It is worrisome.

Perhaps the worst and most unforgivable lie that Joe Biden has perpetrated involves the sad deaths of his wife and baby daughter. As if this tragedy wasn't sad enough, he has continually over the years smeared the truck driver involved by falsely claiming that the truck driver was drunk, speeding and had faulty brakes. None of that is true. Joe & his late wife's good friend, the Delaware Attorney General, at the time took control of the investigation and issued findings that the truck driver had not been drinking at all, was not speeding and that the brakes worked fine. Unfortunately according to eyewitnesses, Mrs. Biden was apparently distracted by her sons in the back seat and was reportedly looking toward the backseat when she either accidentally drifted into the path of the truck or accidentally accelerated into his path. There was no time for the truck to stop.

It wasn't until many, many years later that the former attorney general discussed more fully the findings of his investigation and Mrs. Biden's actions which caused the accident. It's sad for the surviving Bidens, of course, but by all reports the truck driver was grief stricken over the deaths of Mrs. Biden and her baby daughter. Not only did an innocent man had to deal with that but he had to listen to Joe Biden label him a murderer - which is what he did when he lied about the accident during a meeting with MADD members.

When a reporter tried to question Biden on his lies about the accident Biden quickly retreated behind the wall of his grief over the 35 year old event and shut the conversation down..

The other lies and misstatements are just plain stupid. The lies about the accident border on deliberate cruelty.
