October ended with 7 deaths from hostile fire in Iraq, the lowest number on record during Operation Iraqi Freedom. There were also 6 non-hositle deaths due to illness and accidents.
With 10 days to report, Chicago is at 30 homicides this month, more than 400% of the number of casualties in Iraq.
