Governor's Napoleon complex advanced

For those who already are convinced that Gov. Rod Blagojevich is nuts, here’s something to add to the growing pile of evidence: He’s now insisting that legislation he once signed into law is unconstitutional. You can reasonably ask why he enacted the law in the first place, and the obvious answer is that the law no longer serves his cynical political purposes, so he pretends that the law, and the Illinois Constitution, doesn’t apply to him.

Pat Hickey says:

Dennis,

As always, well written and presented. As always, the Governor never disappoints.

The bar of expecation has been set so low by this personal and political train-wreck of man that even Mike Quigley would have difficulty going as low as he can go.

Here is a link to Blago Theme Music as he exits - stage left or right - cuffed or in a straightjacket.

Mike Buck says:

Mr. Byrne is too harsh in his criticism of our esteemed Governor's reversal of position regarding the constitutionality of the joint committee on rules. The Governor's change of view on this matter is neither arbitrary nor "Napoleanic." It is grounded in precedent, a venerable Anglo-American precedent, infra:

"There was a man in our town, And he was wondrous wise, He jumped into a bramble bush and scratched out both his eyes; And when he saw his eyes were out, With all his might and main, He jumped into another bush, And scratched them in again."
