Barack Obama, the US presidential candidate, has become embroiled in the long-running battle between the United Food & Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) and Tesco over union recognition.
Mr Obama has written to Tesco chief executive Sir Terry Leahy urging him to engage with the union.
The letter is not the first time that the senator and Democratic nominee has raised the issue of union recognition at Fresh & Easy, Tesco’s US convenience chain. In November 2007 he wrote to Fresh & Easy chief executive Tim Mason.

Wonder if the union knows the Obama's favorite supermarket in Chicago is non-union Whole Foods Market? Not very many sightings these days because of the run for the Presidency. But before that, many--especially Ms.Obama--Obama family sightings at Whole Foods not far from their house.
Remember Barack's "Have you seen the price of Arugula at Whole Foods" comment during the primary campaign? He knew the price had gone up since he has been a loyal Whole Foods shopper.
I support him by the way...but the union should do a little research first.
