This Time the Religious Right is Right

“For Obama, faith is not simply political garb, something a focus group told him he ought to try. Instead, religion to him is transforming, lifelong, and real.” That’s a quote from “The Faith of Barack Obama,” published by Thomas Nelson, the world’s largest Christian publisher, scheduled to be released in early August by author Stephen Mansfield, an evangelical Christian biographer of New York Times bestseller, “The Faith of George Bush.”

Prof. Don Kmiec must be as soft as a Dairy Queen doubler in a fat man’s back pocket – while chuffing across the parking lot to Ford City Cineplex from Pulaski to Cicero on a 100 degree July afternoon for printing what he said about Kid Audacty on abortion:

“Obama said he earnestly wants to ‘discourage’ the practice (of abortion) despite the distortions of some who think if they affix the ‘pro-abortion-won’t overturn-Roe-label’ to the senator, pro-lifers like myself won’t give him the time of day. Sorry, good friends, not this year,” he wrote in the Chicago Tribune.

Don (Professor if you will) Don, snap out of it Son! Obama’s as deep in Planned Parenthood’s back pocket as that DQ Doubler in Wally the Whale’s billowy chinos.

In the July 17 speech, Obama attacked the Supreme Court decision that upheld the federal partial-birth abortion ban and the nomination of Supreme Court justices who favor overturning Roe v. Wade. In the speech the senator said, “There will always be people, many of goodwill, who do not share my view on the issue of choice. On this fundamental issue, I will not yield and Planned Parenthood will not yield.”

Yeah Don, and the ice cream cone will make from Pulaski to Cicero
