Not Postpartisan but Omnicriminal Chicago

So, Mayor Daley’s speechwriter tells us how wonderful and post-partisan Chicago is. May we soon expect a similar article from Jong Kim Il’s speechwriter about the wonderfulness of his regime?
Chicago (and Illinois) is not “post-partisan”, it is omnicriminal. The Democrats get the city, the Republicans get the suburbs, and the rest of the state can go fish. Daley sends his sewer workers to the suburbs to get compliant Republicans elected. Any smooth running observed in the state is at the cost of massive corruption from both parties and a near complete failure of true democracy. The Hispanics may like Daley, because he is building a Hispanic massive patronage army right out of the Tammany hall playbook.
I’ve lived in Chicago my whole life and I never even heard of Obama until he ran for the US Senate. If he ever opposed anything from the Daley machine nobody ever noticed it. In the last election cycle Barack endorsed not only the Mayor but also his stooge Todd Stoger, the idiot son of the former County Board president for the same office. Stoger has continued the old practice of tossing out competant administrators and replacing them with useless borthers-in-law and towel boys. And from Obama we hear only icy silence and the echos of “Change”. I dunno about you, but I think charity should begin at home.

Obama enjoys one of the best approval ratings of any congressman in the Senate at 70%. Perhaps you should pay more attention and find out more about what he has done. Your fellow citizens seem to know more about him than you.
Maybe your one of the ones who think Bush is doing a great job, he has the lowest approval rating of any American president ever. I urge you to educate yourself with some facts on the issues.

I think the point of the post is that Sen. Obama has won the approval of the media cheerleaders, but has not passed scrutiny. In fact, when he has been scrutinized, he does not show up very well at all.
The media has written a ton of gloss about Obama like the Salon article by Mayor Daley’s speech writer. The comment from “petronius” was syndicated because it reflects Sen. Obama’s (and Mayor Daley’s) actual record rather than his PR spin.
