During “Leave of Absence”, U of C Paid $62,709 to Michelle Obama
If Mrs. Obama did quit her (sinecure at the University Of Chicago Hospitals in May 2007, how was it that she got $$62,709 from the University Of Chicago Hospitals for her work as a chief executive?
Furthermore, as we have noted before, Mrs. Obama’s position was so vitally important to the University Of Chicago Hospital that once she left it – it was done away with.
So, officially, Mrs. Obama was on a ‘leave of absence’ since May 2007. (She didn’t quit, as the Post article had suggested, lest she not have a job if Mr. Obama lost the election.)
Still, we know this is Chicago, but isn’t $63,000 quite a lot for a no-show job?
And isn’t this exactly the kind of executive corruption that Mr. Obama rails against?
Of course, when you think about it, Mr. Obama was paid for a no-show job as well, when he collected his Senate pay. And Mr. Biden, too.
But we have come to expect as much from our public servants.

Simple. Her salary was more than 4 times that amount and she worked part-time. If you will recall, she did not campaign everyday. For someone with a Harvard and Princeton education, I would say that\’s being underpaid. Check out salaries on Wall Street and you will figure out why that is peanuts. Actually, I believe there is something called part-time work or have they abolished that in America? Forgive me if I didn\’t hear that on the news.

Did she really work for any of the money? Remember how her salary was increased after her husband was elected to the US Senate and earmarked money for the hospital? Can you say “quid pro quo?”
How essential was her position if it was abolished as soon as she vacated it?
If Michelle or Barack were such dynamite attorneys, how come neither one of them managed to prosper in the private sector? They did not start earning serious money until they move into the zero accountability realm of public employment.
Why don\’t you use your time finding out how often work was being done at the banks and AGI. The salaries paid there were tremendous and many lost their life savings. You know envy is one of the seven deadly sins. By the way, where do you work and what do you make? You have the priviledge of knowing all about the Obamas; who has the information on any of you? Stop hating and be thankful that this nation was wise enough to vote in Barack Obama as president.
Greed is also one of the Seven Deadly.
Because the AIG case is adequately covered by the rest of the media. The AIG employees worked under a contract and were paid for their labor. The question of whether a insolvent company should pay a bonus is a good one, and covered elsewhere.
Using one’s political position to siphon money from a healthcare institution merits attention from the media. The Michelle Obama story was skipped by the incumbent media. If she really did no work and got paid, I think an explanation is due.
