With 1/4 of Kids Absent, Did Flu Bug Hit New Trier “Civil Rights” Seminar?

New Trier Seminar Supporter

“My sense is that this day is overwhelmingly popular across political lines, and that the opposition, although clearly well organized and very vocal, is very small.”

Superintendent Linda Yonke

Yonke, asserting that while the district and administration has been getting a lot of phone calls and emails, the vast majority of them are supportive.

“Of course I’ve heard from some people who disagree, but the communications I’ve received are overwhelmingly in favor of having the day as planned and feel that it’s an important topic for their children to consider,” she added.”

Here is the actual attendance summary for New Trier High School on Feb. 28. More than 900 people were absent, and you might notice a few “half-days” indicating some people left early. That is a nearly 24 percent absentee rate total and a 25 percent absentee rate in Winnetka.

Expanding the important part

So 900 kids skipped school, because they did not want to attend the seminar (or possibly they were actually sick). Then a large number of students skipped the seminar to do their homework in the library. Plus there were many student who voiced opposition during the seminar to the indoctrination being passed off as education.

Or as the Superintendent says the ‘vast majority’ supported her seminar.

Some students presented notes from their family physicians to excuse their absences. The students were deemed to be to sane and healthy to attend the Yonke “reeducation/indoctrination” sessions.

Yonke needs to be fired, but I am sure that the supine school board would use that as an excuse to giving a generous severance package and parting gifts.
