Valerie Jarrett Business Partner Dan Mahru is Disbarred

The justices also disbarred on consent Daniel S. Mahru of Chicago following his guilty plea to a federal criminal information — charging him with defrauding his mother and the estate set up to provide for her care. M.R. 25052. Mahru and Tony Rezko are former business partners. Rezko continues serving a 10 ½ year prison term for plotting to squeeze $7 million in kickbacks from firms that wanted to do business with the state of Illinois.
The misconduct that led to Mahru’s disbarment did not involve Rezko, said Mahru’s attorney, Jeffrey B. Steinback.
Mahru faced serious personal concerns and did not actively practice law for some time, Steinback said.
Mahru “believes that seeking [disbarment on consent] from the Supreme Court is appropriate under all the circumstances regarding both his case and his personal life,” Steinback said.

Isn’t Jeffery Steinbeck also Daniel Frawley and (was) Bernard T. Barton’s (AKA John Thomas) attorney, too.
Archy;Yes he is both Barton’s AND he is Frawley’s…Steinback is why Frawley’s last sentence hearing was postponed, supposedly Steinback was recovering from surgery.

I think it is worth pointing out that Jeffery Steinback represented Carothers. So, Jeffrey Steinback represented John Thomas who helped convict Steinback’s other client Alderman Carothers and Thomas wore a wire when visiting another clients office Rezmar (Daniel Mahru). Only in Chicago !

Whistleblower: you would think with Thomas, Frawley and Mahru all wearing wires on this crew you would have gotten more charges and one of them would have testified??? The feds chose Stuart Levine??? HOW bad could these guy’s have been IF Stuart Levine was the feds witness of choice??? You have to admit it’s pretty funny, can you imagine being picked over because you weren’t as credible/likeable as Stuart Levine?
The goal was to protect Obama,hence no testimony from Frawley, Mahru & Barton.

Whistleblower: Jeffery Steinback is a “sentencing” lawyer, brought in after a guilty verdict. This is why he has so many of Chicago’s criminal elite, he’s suppose to be the best and from the looks of it he is.

Understood, however, I do believe that conflict of interest still applies in the case of Mr Steinback’s list of client’s. At the very least it warrants a closer look.

Daniel (Danny) Mahru was a brilliant student at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. Part waythrough high school; His parents moved into a district of New Trier High School so that Danny could get a better education. I believe that Danny then attended Northwestern University. I recall that he was friends with Danny Inouye, son of the late congressman, Daniel Inouye of Hawaii. Daniel Mahru is a good man. Everybody makes mistakes……………….Phil Stone
