I recommend that you read "Not Out of Africa: How Afro-Centrism Became an Excuse to Teach Myth as History" by Mary Lefkowitz. Professor Lefkowitz is a faculty member at Wellesley College. Her area of expertise is the classical period, which you seem to have neglected during your studies.

Do you homework before voicing a poorly reasoned opinion during class. Accusing everyone within an eight mile radius of a given church, suggests that you, yourself, are biased.

Maybe, Obama went halfway across town because all the other church services were completely boring. Maybe they were unwelcome elsewhere. Maybe they felt more welcome at Wright's church. Who knows? It's highly likely that many predominantly white churches wreaked of racism. This is not impossible, typically true, and highly probable. Who cares? I find that the people who tend to be offended by where he went to church tend to be racist themselves; some covertly and some overtly.

Stolen Legacy was discredited by whom? We have to ask ourselves precisely who those people are and what was their orientation. Furthermore, whether or not any of the details within the book were 'discredited' in the past the truth still remains, there is a fair bit of knowledge produced in Kemet that found its way into the sciences, religion, and philosophies that we accredit to Europeans. And to be precise, the people of Ancient Egypt were not Europeans. They were not Asian/Arab either. They were obviously African. You'll even see that when you go their and look at how they depicted themselves on the walls of their tombs. I've seen it personally myself. As a historian yourself, don't let any of the false perspectives in the books that are widely available lead you astray. Those books may even purport that the Ancient Egyptians were aliens or aliens came from outer space to build it for the people of Kemet. This is racism. Maybe the fact that the Ancient Egyptians were African/Black will become more accepted the more white historians and writers write about it. I think this will be the only way it will come to light. Until then, it will be, 'discredited'.

Dan, I wonder if they ever sing this song at the
Trinity United Chruch of Christ?
Frank

When Israel was in Egypt's Land,
Let my people go,
Opressed so hard they could not stand,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
Thus saith the Lord, bold Moses said,
Let my people go,
If not, I'll smite your first-born dead,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
No more shall they in bondage toil,
Let my people go,
Let them come out with Egypt's spoil,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
The Lord told Moses what to do,
Let my people go,
To lead the Hebrew children through,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
O come along Moses, you'll not get lost,
Let my people go,
Stretch out your rod and come across,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
As Israel stood by the waterside,
Let my people go,
At God's command it did divide,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
When they reached the other shore,
Let my people go,
They sang a song of triumph o'er,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
Pharaoh said he'd go across,
Let my people go,
But Pharaoh and his host were lost,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
Jordan shall stand up like a wall,
Let my people go,
And the walls of Jericho shall fall,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
Your foes shall not before you stand,
Let my people go,
And you'll possess fair Canaan's land,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
O let us all from bondage flee,
Let my people go,
And let us all in Christ be free,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
We need not always weep and mourn,
Let my people go,
And wear these slavery chains forlorn,
Let my people go.

Chorus
Go down, Moses,
Way down in Egypt's Land.
Tell ol' Pharoah,
Let my people go.
