On Tuesday, President Obama and the First Lady used the State of the Union spotlight to pay tribute to an innocent teenage girl shot and killed by Chicago gang thugs. On Friday, Obama will travel to the Windy City to decry violence and crusade for more gun laws in the town with the strictest gun laws and bloodiest gun-related death tolls in America.

Obama, his wife, his campaign strategists, his closest cronies, and his biggest bundlers all hail from Chicago. Senior adviser and former Chicago real estate mogul/city planning commissioner Valerie Jarrett and her old boss, Richard Daley, presided over a massive “Plan for Transformation” in the mid-1990s to rescue taxpayer-subsidized public housing from its bloody hellhole. How’d that work out for you, Chicago?

What is truly risible to contemplate Obama’s record of nonaccomplishment in the Illinois legislature. He ducked most controversial votes unless he was called upon to expand opportunities for abortions or he was signaled by Emil Jones. He was the ultimate backbencher in Springfield and a singularly corrupt politician on the make while in Chicago. Some of Obama’s fellow legislators cannot believe that this zero was sold to the American people as “the Golden Boy.”
If ever there was an argument for gun rights it was the Companion Security deal… Think about the “what if”, you have two convicted felons, one a self confessed mental patient bringing 150 presumably invetted Iraqis to Illinois to train to use ak-47′s…when interviewed by local media Obama said that he told rezko it wasn’t the sort of thing his office did yet his assistant met with Frawley multiple times over a six month period and never once did Obama make mention of it being a really bad idea. Illinois with the toughest gun laws in the country, what could possibly go wrong?
