The Chicago Daily Observer Mourns the Passing of Edward F. Dillard

Chicago Daily Observer 31 January 2010 2 Comments

Edward Dillard, the father of Sen. Kirk Dillard, has died at the age of  82.    Our condolences to the Dillard family.

  • Tom Zimmerman said:

Edward was a dedicated teacher, and he was loved by all of us who knew him. I’m sure he will be smiling down on us when Kirk Dillard wins the Republican primary on Tuesday.

  • David Morgan said:

Mr. Dillard was my teacher in 1966 in Illinois where I grew up, before moving away for good the following year. But I took with me, from Mr. Dillard and other dedicated teachers at Hinsdale High School, a very good and enduring secondary education. They got up every morning and came in and worked hard devoted to our benefit. Years and years later, their efforts live. Mr. Dillard taught me 20th century American history of which, for me, he is a part. He represents the constructive, sturdy, reliable stock that isn’t mainstream for me anymore where I now live as it was back in the midwest. I count his influence on me among my blessings.
