Illinois in One Sentence: Mansion Owned by Governor Pritzker, Now in Foreclosure

Chicago Daily Observer 11 June 2019 No Comment

From the Evanston Patch

The former mansion of Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and First Lady MK Pritzker returned to the market Sunday in north Evanston with an asking price of $2.7 million amid ongoing foreclosure proceedings on the property.

The governor and his wife purchased the property for $1.025 million in 1993, selling it for $4.1 million in 2007 — the same year they bought the second of their two contiguous mansions on Astor Place in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. That home’s toilet-related property tax breaks reportedly remain under federal investigation.
