Hey Warren Buffett, Illinois is Broke. Pay for your Own “Multimodal Transportation Center”

Chicago Daily Observer 26 September 2012 No Comment

From RT&S

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, joined by Illinois Transportation Secretary Ann Schneider and other state and local officials, broke ground September 21 on a new multimodal transportation center in downtown Joliet, Ill.

The transportation center is anticipated to be complete by 2015. In addition to the $32 million from Illinois Jobs Now!, the project includes $7.5 million from the city of Joliet and $2.2 million from BNSF. The Regional Transportation Authority, Pace, Metra, Amtrak, Will County and Union Pacific also served as key partners.

From BNSF

On Feb. 12, 2010, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC, (formerly known as Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation) and BNSF Railway Company became subsidiaries of Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC, and BNSF Railway Company each continue to file annual, quarterly and current reports on Forms 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). These filings, as well as historical SEC filings of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation, are accessible under the “SEC Filings” tab.

Only $32 Million for Warren Buffet to improve his rail operations? What a deal!
