Governor Thompson’s Condo Sells for less than 2000 Price

James Thompson, governor of Illinois from 1977 to 1991, and his wife, Jayne, last week sold a condo not only for less than they paid for it in 2008, but for less than the prior owners paid for it in May 2000.


“It’s a different market now,” the former governor told Crain’s. He added that the finishes in the condo have not been updated since the building was new, in 2000. Together, the slow current real estate market and the need for updating “account for the price,” he said.
