Durbin’s “Guarantee” that You Can Keep Your Existing Health Insurance

Chicago Daily Observer 30 September 2014 2 Comments

Senator Richard Durbin, July 30th, 2009.

“Many people say: I like my health insurance right now. I don’t want to change. I don’t want to go into Medicare or Medicaid. I like what I have. Would you please leave people alone. The answer is yes. In fact, we guarantee it. We are going to put in any legislation considered by the House and Senate the protection of you, as an individual, to keep the health insurance you have, if that is what you want. What we are trying to create are voluntary choices and opportunities.”

Attention Jim Oberweis: if this video of Dick Durbin lying about health insurance can’t make you a winning commercial then you really deserve to lose election.

Had,the GOP put up a viable candidate against Tricky Dick, the GOP candidate might, just might, have had a chance to win. Albeit small.

But with the candidate’s wife taking up official residency in another state, his candidacy is a non-starter.

Makes you wonder why Oberweis is spending his own money for the contest.

And, Steve, nice post, but can we be certain that a victorious campaign is the GOP’s core objective? Or might his be a pro forma campaign? Just sayin’.
