Obama the Community Organizer, A First Hand Observation

Q. Can you tell me how you first met Sen. Obama?

A. I met him when I went to work for Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland in January 1994, a civil rights law firm on the near north side of Chicago on Erie Street. I got the job through a friend who I worked with at a temporary job two years before. She worked at the firm and gave me a good reference. She was Sen. Obama’s legal secretary.

Q. You told me the law firm you worked for dealt with civil rights. So would it be safe to say Obama was a champion for the downtrodden and less fortunate? What were your personal impressions of Obama? Did he seem like helping the poor was his primary agenda?

A. I didn’t feel at the time Obama cared about the downtrodden and less fortunate and I still don’t feel that way. I didn’t see any proof of that at all during the 11 months I worked there. I don’t have any knowledge of Obama helping in the community in any way. We as legal secretaries weren’t paid very much there and he could’ve started helping with that – speaking up about the low pay we had. I didn’t see that he cared about our state in life. I also saw him act in ways that were very self-serving, self-focused and ambitious.

Pat Hickey says:

This - as the Progressive Cupcakes are wont to say - is chilling.

No anonymous source the good woman sticks her neck out - tough.

I expect that she will get some Obama payback as well.

It is interesting; Giannoulias is a genuine open and very generous hearted young man. Yet, Obama gets the pass. We are most like ourselves when no one is watching - or we think that to be so.

Scary Barry says:

This is disturbing.

If true, it calls in to question the sincerity of Obama's claims to be a Christian.

Of course, in certain religions and ideologies, lying to advance one's agenda is considered a good business practice.

If anyone is searching for truth, I doubt they would waste their time looking for it at RFFM.ORG.

So JC, are you saying that this interview is a fraud, that there is no such person as Ms Revor or that she never worked with Obama?

Deb says:

I am a real person and I did work at Davis, Miner, et al. for 11 months in 1994. I do not lie about my experiences with Sen. Obama and did not do this for any other reason than to get the truth of his true personality out there. He is not the congenial, aw shucks person that is seen on TV.

Jerry Fahey says:

Gee Deb,

you worked at the same place as him for a whopping 11 months. Wow. You didn't even directly work for him. Wow.

Now there is likely some truth to what you are saying. There is also likely something called "point of view" and others who worked around him might feel differently.

I've never met the man, but I do know someone who worked at that law firm and she says good things about him. Now one of the former partners there she loathes and is enjoying his current semi misfortune. I also know a lawyer who worked with him involving a non related charity and she finds him an arrogant individual. Where is the truth?

Again I don't know the truth about your "serious" allegations regarding Obama being standoffish and arrogant. Perhaps he did roll his eyes at your prayer group. I would have, but then I was raised Catholic and we don't go in for that kind of public display of "faith".

Bill Daley has a great anecdote on being raised Catholic. When Bill Clinton fessed up to the Lewinsky affair he cried and hugged and prayed at a cabinet meeting. Daley was happily in Canada on some trade mission and as he said he was glad not to be there. All that hugging and praying and crying just ain't kosher for us Catholic types.

As for RFFM.ORG perhaps their next expose will be on Obama bumping into someone too hard while playing basketball or tipping less than 15 percent at dive diners in Ohio. I await the "truthiness" with bad and bated breath.

Laughing out-freakin-loud! You guys are really getting desperate, aren't you?

"Q. I understand CBS NEWS approached you to do an interview regarding your history with Obama. Why did you reject that offer and decide to discuss your experiences with the Democratic Party's presidential nominee with RFFM.org."

Right. OR, just maybe, Ms. Revor wasn't about to subject herself to the tough, challenging questions a CBS interviewer would throw at her.

Tell you what, ask Tom Roeser to put the insightful Ms, Revor on his radio show, and let listeners phone in the questions.

I'm guessing Revor will still be too bashful to take up the offer.

Observer says:

A week before I read this post I had an interesting discussion with two State Senators who had served a number of years with Obama before he went to the US Senate. One from each party. Both said that he was not particularly liked within his own caucus and was uniformly considered arrogant. He let everyone know that he was just a little smarter than they were, and was also considered lazy when it came to the business of the senate. He was not considered an expert on anything (budget, transportation, civil or criminal law) so very few sought his insight on pressing issues of the day. What these two senators told me gleaned over many years serving with Obama is consistent with what I read this woman observed over her eleven months. Messiah or empty, arrogant suit? The evidence is mounting on the latter, little to support the former.

Obama sounds like an empty, arrogant suit, acts like one and in fact is one. If people would read up on his background in the Illinois state senate, his background at Davis, Miner, his close friends, his backers, it gets scary. Sounds to me like another politician backed by the Chicago machine.

Deb says:

Yes, CBS wanted to interview me but as the media is now sold out to the leftist political hacks, I will not interview with a leftist partisan newspaper or TV station. Obama was very prejudiced towards Christians, it is true and I will not back down from my statements. I saw him every day working in a small 8 attorney firm. Davis Miner, was not a 300 attorney firm where you don't get to know anyone. You guys are all blind. Not my problem though, your problem.

Pat Hickey says:

Well said, Deb. It took no small measure of backbone to present your story. More than the sampling of snipers who would diminish your truth, but that is in the nature of such folks.

Jerry Fahey says:

Pat,

you wouldn't know "truth" if it hit you on your ample "holy mother the Church" ass.

How about those new polls showing Obama picking up? No discussion on your site. Last week you were linking to polls showing Obama down.

Doesn't fit your "worldview".

I'm sure if some polls show McCain picking up you will link to them.

As for Deb I am prejudiced against "Christians". May the Lord Save us from those who claim to love Her. If you feel the need to tout your "faith" it is likely not genuine and that goes for Deb and for Obama. I don't particularly like his public professions of faith any more than hers.

Remember some of the parables about praying "quietly". No, I didn't think so.

Anyway I need a beer.

How about a six pack to go?

Deb says:

Actually Obama's secretary was very evangelistic and I was low key. She was a person who "touted" her faith as you say, Fahey. Jesus does say "Whoever denies me I will deny to my father." Poor you.

15

Jerry Fahey says:

Yea, Deb you seem very "low key" about your faith. Really I mean it. I do. Really. Sorta.

Pick and choose your bible quotes. Pray loudly and make sure everyone knows you are praying. As the first Mayor Daley might have said "faker".

Pat, I may need more than a six pack if the Cubs and Sox both make the series. The end times may be upon us. Palin in the White House looking for dinosaur and human footprints, McCain declaring war on Spain, Giuliani as attorney general and Crossdresser in chief, I really really really need a Murphy's Stout. Sweeter than a Guinness. Just like me. Sweet.

September 20, 2008 at 2 p.m.

Deb says:

Yikes, Fahey, you're really exaggerating what went on in the "prayer time." We didn't yell loudly, we had the door closed and actually prayed quietly like for 10 minutes, not a whole hour. You really are speaking out of turn as you weren't there so you have no idea. As far as the first Mayor Daley, he got in as mayor because of the mob. Not someone I would want to be quoting. I guess you're one of those liberal operatives that like to exaggerate and lie to make your candidate look good.

September 20, 2008 at 4:05 p.m.

Jerry Fahey says:

Deb,

I said nothing about "prayer time". I'm not quite sure where you are getting that. Something out of context perhaps? Just like your "bible baffle" quotes. Pick and choose. By "praying quietly" I meant "privately". You took it literally just like you take the bible. How you manage the contradictions in the bible is beyond me. Again one of the glories of Catholicism is not taking the bible too seriously. Martin Luther be damned. Just kidding Debbie. Marty had some legitimate grips against the corruption of the medieval Church.

There is a story in the New Testament about how JC(Jesus Christ) suggested people pray PRIVATELY and not make a big issue of their prayerfulness and holiness. Perhaps you missed that one.

As for the first Mayor Daley, as my dad would say, "you're not qualified to put a patch on his ass". Please don't take that literally. Ask someone and they will explain it to you. Perhaps they can speak slowly and with small words so you can understand.

We'll see if Mr South Side Irish, Pat Hickey, has anything to say about Hizzoner numero uno.

Pray for me Deb and I'll keep working toward an Obama victory.

September 20, 2008 at 8:42 p.m.
18

Deb says:

I actually don't need anyone to speak slowly and with small words, smart aleck. I used to be Catholic - don't know what you see in it actually. Pray for Obama, he definitely needs those to win. I'm done responding.

Howard says:

OBAMA = BETRAYAL
Obama supporters are foolish to think that he will never betray them.
Obama was a close friend of Pastor Wright for TWENTY YEARS.
Obama threw Wright under the bus for personal ambition.
McCain would not betray his country even after 5 years of torture.
You can put lipstick on a traitor, but he's still a traitor.
