Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. – Bill Burton, Obama Spokesman
Leave it to the Democrats to continue to their assault on small town America. I’m proud to be from one of those small towns and I find Mr. Burton’s comments insulting. Sen. Obama revealed his feelings about small town America months ago when he said that voters in Pennsylvania clung to “guns and religion” out of bitterness. Seems to me like Sen. Obama just doesn’t understand true American values. We don’t all shop at Whole Foods and we don’t care what the price arugula is.

Small town America, which includes neighborhood - places where people have thirty year mortgages, send their kids to Catholic and Private Schools, because the Public Schools are train-wrecks, pay taxes on everything, and tend to speak with one another, stands in direct opposition to Progressive America - where couples married or not tend not to have any kids, enjoy two incomes with heaps of rewarding disposable cash, move when the 'atmosphere' or impulse suits them.
Progressive America with alpabets after the name sneer at the six-pack lugging, no-time for Pilates, or personal trainer, cigarette smoking or tolerating, close-knit ethnics, and the many kids and they see HOPE and CHANGE in the air!
Everyone else, small towners in Town and Country, see merit in effective, talented, experienced and committed people and they talk to their neighbors and act to build stronger community - they also remember to Vote. Probably because it does interfere with Cable news or Pilates.

Yeah a community organizer from the South Side trying to con people into living in rat infested housing is much more qualified to be President than a Governor.
