CTA woes affect all of us

Gov. Rod Blagojevich swooped in Wednesday with a pot of cash to stave off the Chicago Transit Authority’s threatened fare increases and service cuts—but if you listen closely, you still can hear the time bomb ticking. The countdown to doomsday is on. Even if the Regional Transportation Authority accepts this offer, the clock will just be reset to November.
