From NBC5
3. A supporter of President Obama may have offered quid pro quo on a Jarrett senate appointment
Redacted portion: Supporter of Presidential Candidate Obama is mentioned in a phone call on November 3, 2008, having offered “fundraising” in exchange for Senate Candidate B for senator (Blagojevich Home Phone Call # 149).

From Huffington Post, December 11, 2008
The President-elect gamely fielded three questions on the issue and addressed it in his opening remarks, saying (twice) that he was appalled and disappointed “by the revelations earlier this week.” He declared that he “had …

Carol Marin wants you to stand up and applaud. Rather than joining in the standing ovation, I choose to remain seated.

To paraphrase the Fats Domino lyrics, “Yes, its Deb Mell and she’s in love again.”
Mixing business with pleasure, Mell has decided to declare her love for Christin Baker on the floor of the Illinois General Assembly. Alas, their marriage will have to be solemnized in Iowa, however, as Illinois has never recognized same sex marriages.
For romantics like Marin and Mell, Illinois lawmakers receive no credit for being the first in …

From the Illinois Review
The Illinois House of Representatives is considering a key vote right now. Senate Bill 2494 would save thousands of children from Chicago’s worst schools by giving them a voucher allowing them to attend the school of their choice.

This program has been successful in other states, and it won’t cost downstate or suburban schools any money. After years of your tax dollars going to failing schools, this bill will also hold Chicago Public Schools accountable for their performance.
Is your legislator standing with the kids who need help, or …

Tom Roeser Pat Hughes is—What?
Kirk Touche.
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-IL) who sought passionately to get former Veep candidate Sarah Palin to endorse him when he had a primary opponent…and who was turned down…is now turning down the opportunity to be part of the Palin Illinois rally. O.k. Nothing wrong with that.
Hughes Wha?
Patrick Hughes who ran against Mark Kirk in the February 2 primary enthusiastically plumped for him the other day and now has been actively stumping for Kirk. See the difference?
This is what turns people against politics. Not …

From William McGurn
Contrary to all the obituaries, hope and change and a new spirit of bipartisanship are alive and well in Barack Obama’s America. Just not in Washington.

In the state legislature of post-Obama Illinois, a largely white Republican Party is joining forces with reform-minded African-American and Latino Democrats. Together they are challenging two establishments: machine Democrats backed by teachers unions, and suburban and downstate Republicans mostly indifferent to inner-city issues.
The vehicle is an educational voucher bill that needs only the approval of the full Illinois house to land on the …

Liberals don’t want to pass an immigration law: they want to exploit the situation in Arizona so as to rev up their base for 2010 and beyond. Under the demagogic leadership of The Great One, the Harvard lawyer whose papers are held in security from readers to see, all they need is to let Him do an angry standup read …and send Looie the Weasel (Rep. Luis Gutierrez) and Al the Sharp One (Al Sharpton) out to fire up the base for 2010. But of course liberal journalists are …

l’ve just spent over a week in New York and wasted most of my time having fun with a fewvoters rather than trying to woo the masses. Frankly, if I could meet and win the votes of1,000 people a day between now and the primary September 14 | would amass a total ofabout 150,000 votes, enough to lose by a million. So l’m doing it differently.

On Thursday I went to a small invitation only meeting of the New York Democratic StateCommittee where all the statewide candidates were represented by their …

I can’t figure out why but the Obama administration and the Democrat controlled Congress have decided to bring immigration reform back into the headlines.

I don’t know if they believe their own press releases or if they have a death wish but the majority of Americans both Democrat and Republican are against any move to legalize any of the 12 million illegals in the country.
With unemployment hovering around 10% and over 20% in the construction industry bringing this issue up will be a death knell for any politician of either party. …

Blago’s Get Even Strategy with Obama.
So the redactions on the original Fed bill of particulars against Obama have themselves been redacted and now we know just what the Feds have on Obama. Blago’s trainer…Sam Adams, Jr….not unlike Burgess Meredith in Rocky…is teaching his student to break all the usual bromides. Hence Blago is demanding that Obama testify.

The prevailing thought is that Obama can avoid testifying. I cannot see how. He is front and center making certain protestations of innocence regarding Tony Rezko and the evidence that the Feds have show …
